In his letter, dated August 2007, sent to several Scottish games and events, he repeats his defamatory statements previously made and adds  “…Any other organizations that operate under the name of Clan  MacTavish and/or represents themselves as officers and/or legal representatives of Clan MacTavish should be considered as possibly operating in a fraudulent manner.  Specifically, there is an organization by the name of Dunardry Heritage Association (DHA) that presents themselves as supporting Clan MacTavish.  This is incorrect and they have no authority to act for Clan MacTavish in any manner.” In the 5th paragraph he states, …“The biggest concern I have is that the DHA is a commercial operation rather than a recognized representative of Clan MacTavish.  The DHA actively misleads the unsuspecting public into believing that it supports a legitimate Clan MacTavish but uses any funds raised solely for its own benefit.”  Again, he accuses DHA of operating fraudulently and suggests that DHA is dishonest in business and trade.  His statements were again intended to cause DHA financial loss, disparage it’s commissioners and members, remove a competing organization,  and expose innocent people to undeserved ridicule and contempt throughout the Scottish community.

In the CMU First Quarter 2008, Vol 1, #8 issue of Non Oblitus, Leslie MacTavish’s article entitled “MacTavish Philosophy” insinuates that DHA is culpable and lying regarding Dugald’s embezzlement. Leslie’s article  is another thinly veiled attempt to discredit Dunardry Heritage Association (DHA), because we are the only other Clan MacTavish supporting organization which can release the incriminating bank records proving Dugald’s thefts. She continues, “So when a detracting organization says Chief Dugald stole funds, using them, for example, to make trips to Scotland, you feel the need to defend his honor if you love him.”  IF YOU LOVE HIM??? The subliminal message is that we should overlook his theft and lies, and if the members love Dugald and Steven enough, they will not question their actions or hold them accountable. Making you feel guilty about questioning Steven’s actions, will prevent you from doing so. Dugald’s larceny would not have become a public issue, if postings on Steven’s web page had not accused DHA officials of fiscal impropriety. The “detracting organization” (obviously DHA) had never mentioned Scotland. The unsubstantiated claims and insinuations made in Steven’s “Vision” letter that DHA was not being fiscally responsible and transparent, required disclosure of Dugald’s embezzlement. As always with these people, Leslie provides no evidence. Since Dugald had not spoken to either Steven or Leslie for about 12 years, I question their now soaring “love” for him. She continues;  “The ideal solution would be to analyze the financial books so as to determine the facts.  Without valid data, how can the allegations be proved or disproved?  Unfortunately, the most vocal detracting organization is the only one with access to the books and they have so far failed to produce an audit by an independent CPA.”
These statements, as well as Steven’s February 12, 2006 written statement  “…I don’t know if my father misused funds,” are complete and obvious lies.  Steven and Leslie had the bank statements and printouts in hand in 2005!  They both knew the facts.  In response to Steven’s request on July 6, 2005,  he was informed of
